Hi everyone! We wanted to pop on here and give an update about all that is going on in our life and business with all the craziness that is happening with this COVID-19 mess.

Health Heroes. Over the last week we have been featuring the many health heroes who we have photographed over the last 7 years. We are so appreciative of them and all the health heroes in the world! We are also grateful for so many others in this country such as first responders, grocery store employees, delivery service employees, pharmacists — the list goes on! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Stay home

Our Business. COVID-19 has impacted our business in a negative way but we are staying hopeful and know we are still extremely blessed. Right now it’s hard to gauge exactly how much this affects the future of the wedding industry, but we know it is going to change it. Perhaps people won’t be inclined to book spring weddings. Maybe there will be an influx of smaller weddings and elopements. Destination weddings might not be as popular. No matter what we are still excited to photograph beautiful couples from all over the world.

Our Family. We are making the best of staying at home. Having a routine is essential, especially because we have a 23-month old daughter. We want to ensure she is active, stimulated and learning.

Here are a few things we’ve been up to:

Walks in our neighborhood every morning and evening
Derek started building ‘J’ a playground
Play outside often
Read plenty of books to her
Watch church on Sundays
Cook lots of meals at home
Baking cookies together
House projects (but without being able to go to Lowe’s or Home Depot)

We are constantly reminding ourselves to remain positive and not to grumble about small inconveniences. Yes, COVID-19 has hurt our business, but others have been impacted by it in ways we can’t even comprehend.

Stay healthy and keep washing those hands, everyone!
